The discovery that your partner is engaging in sexually addictive behaviors can be devastating. Most partners describe the exposure or disclosure of infidelity and/or sex addiction as trauma and many of their feelings and behaviors following are similar to the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder. They feel completely unsafe in the environment of their current relationship. There are intense feelings of betrayal, anger, confusion, sadness, hopelessness and mistrust.
You may feel as though you are going crazy or that you are all alone. This is the worst time to withdraw or ignore the problem. The best way to deal with the overwhelming emotions is to get help. At Living in Freedom Therapy, Gerry Pettyjohn has experience and training to support you and guide you through a recovery process.
You will be provided with:
- an atmosphere of understanding and support.
- guidelines for how to handle your unique situation.
